Contemporary Ceramic Studios

Ceramic or Pottery Studios will vary widely according the programs offered and/or focus of the business owner, but essential the activity found within is the same:

1. Make a clay surface or;
2. Select an pre-formed bisque shape;
3. Choose glazes, brushes and assorted other decorating tools and accessories;
4. Apply your decoration to your chosen surface;
5. Fire your piece in a kiln;

Pottery Studios generally focus on hand-made shapes made from moist clay. Contemporary Ceramic Studios generally focus on pre-formed bisque. Both studio models may also offer classes and programs making glass and jewelry projects. What this means to you, the consumer, is that you have many choices where you can enjoy and participate in the design and decoration of clay surfaces Your Way.

Mayco Creative Studios

Mayco Creative studios are uniquely dedicated to helping you enjoy and participate in Ceramics. Your Way.^™ These independent studios offer Mayco sponsored programs that include:

• Studio Programs: from simply walking-in and beginning a project to scheduling events or parties. Many studios offer a regular schedule of workshops. Be sure to visit each studios's website for a current listing of their classes;
• Supplies To Go: if you prefer, you can buy your retail supplies and take them home. Many studios offer kiln firing services - owning a kiln is not necessary for you to complete a project;
• Parties To Go: group events at your location are no problem. Studios can provide the supplies and personnel to make your event a success;
• Design Services: studios can "do-it-for-you" through custom design services. Create face plates and drawer pulls to match fabrics or wallpaper, match large serving bowls to your existing dinnerware set. It's all possible. Share pictures and samples with participating studios. If you know what you want but would rather have someone else complete the project for you this program is for you.
• Gifts To Go: studios offer giftware, dinnerware and other household items already decorated and ready for sale.
