Cone 6 Reference
The following is a visual reference of cone 06 glazes fired to cone 6. We rolled a buff colored, cone 6 clay to create tiles. The tiles were bisque fired to cone 04, glazed as directed on the jar label, and then fired to cone 6. Textures visible in certain images ws created by the slab roller mat.Food safe, lead-bearing glazes may NOT be food safe when fired to cone 6. Glazes rated non-toxic and food safe will remain so providing they do not craze. Some Mayco glazes can perform well above cone 6 (Stroke & Coat is one such glaze line) - as always test on your clay bodies to confirm results.
Due to their composition, the following do not withstand above shelf cone 05 firing.
