Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a pencil, transfer the oval where the picture is going to be on the right side of the plate.
  3. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 smooth coats of FN-001 White to the oval. Allow to dry.
  4. Condition a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan with AC-525 Brush Cleaner and apply 1 heavy coat of AC-302 Wax Resist to the oval. Clean the AC-302 Wax Resist out of your brush using hot water and AC-525 Brush Cleaner. Allow to dry.
  5. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-001 White to the rest of the plate. Front and Back. Allow to dry
  6. With a pencil, draw a flower pattern onto the left side of the plate.
  7. Apply a few drops of water to SC-8 Just Froggy to thin down the color. Using CB-106 #6 Script Liner, brush in the stems of the flowers leaving dark and light areas . Also add this color to the base of the flowers.
  8. Add a few drops of water to SC-27 Sour Apply and apply some shading to the petals of the Calla Lillies (or flowers of your choice), bringing it down to the base, overlapping into the darker green with the same brush.
  9. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, outline and detail the flowers and stems with SC-15 Tuxedo.
  10. Starting at the rim of the oval and using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, tap in SC-42 Butter Me Up. Add water to lighten the color as you move away from the oval to the edges of the plate getting lighter as you go. This will give a brighter color to the picture area.
  11. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
  12. Prepare and print image.
  13. Review the instructions on image transfer to create your image.
  14. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
