Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using 2" Mini Foam Roller, roll SC-15 Tuxedo onto MT-004 Swirls Mat. Press the mat on to the MB-994 Picture Frame, pressing at the picture frame opening. Press the second section above the frame opening, and lastly the narrow side of the frame.
  3. Lay the wheat stencil flat on the frame. Using a squeegee, apply SG-501 Sculpting Medium overtop the stencil, applying in a downward direction taking care not to lift the stencil. Use the squeegee to evenly remove excess SG-501 Sculpting Medium.
  4. Immediately following the application of SG-501 Sculpting Medium before it dries, use a CB-106 #6 Script Liner and apply 1 coat of SG-401 Black.
  5. Remove wheat stencil. With a bamboo skewer, remove any excess SG-501 Sculpting Medium that leaked under the stencil.
  6. Using CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply SG-401 Black to the side edge and picture frame edge.
  7. When dry, using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of EL-136 Lapis Lagoon.
  8. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply EL-135 Rare Earth to the frame's edges and 1 coat on the inner and outer edge of the frame for an antiqued look.
  9. Only apply glaze 1/4 inch to the back edge of the frame, as it will be glued onto the backing.
  10. Fire to shelf cone 06.
  11. After firing, use an epoxy to glue the cardboard to the back of the frame.
