Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-009 Black to the entire plate. Allow to dry.
  3. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace on the pattern.
  4. Using a CB-602 #2 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SC-84 Dee Jon to the background, follow the design shapes with the brush, as some will show.
  5. Condition a CB-110 #10/0 Liner by: dampen the brush in water and squeeze out any excess water. Load the brush with AC-525 Brush Cleaner then squeeze between a paper towel.
  6. Apply AC-302 Wax Resist to create an edge around the flower and stems, going an 1/8 inch onto the black glaze and some on the SC-84 Dee Jon. Wax Resist the center of the flower.
  7. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 even coats of SG-202 White Cobblestone over the stems and leaves, brush the second coat when the first coat has lost its shine.
  8. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 even coat of SC-39 Army Surplus over the SG-202 White Cobblestone leaves after the second coat has lost its gloss.
  9. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-74 Hot Tamale on the flower heads in the same manner.
  10. Dot the center of the flower with SC-85 Orkid. Allow to dry.
  11. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
