Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper trace on the leaves on to the gourd.
  3. Outline the leaves with SA-002 Black Accent.
  4. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, drop in a heavy coat with crystals of CG-976 Teal Drop into the leaves.
  5. Put some SG-501 Sculpting Medium into the AC-223 Large Writer Tip bottle, using the metal tip for a thinner line and form drip lines ½" apart down the fat part of the gourd.  Let gravity pull the lines, repeat over the same lines a couple of times, let the drip stop at different places on the line. Allow to dry.
  6. Using a RB-144 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat of CG-976 Teal Drop to the gourd omitting the leaves.
  7. Using a RB-144 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of EL-136 Lapis Lagoon to the top section of the gourd.
  8. Using a RB-144 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of EL-135 Rare Earth to the remainder of the gourd, overlapping the EL-136 Lapis Lagoon, one inch.
  9. Using a RB-144 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of EL-134 Mirror Blue to the top section of the gourd.
  10. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 3-4 coats of EL-135 Rare Earth to the stem. Allow to dry.
  11. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 05/06.
