Project Info




  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Begin by painting the car. Using a CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply 3 coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the body of the car, save the windows, headlights and a 1" line along the top of the car from the hood to the tail pipes.
  3. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-35 Gray Hare to the rim and the tail pipes.
  4. Apply 3 coats of SC-6 Sunkissed to the headlights.
  5. Apply 2 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo to the tires.
  6. Leave a white (bisque) stripe running across the top/center of the car approximately 1/3" thick. Add a blue stripe the same width to either side of the white stripe by applying 3 coats of SC-12 Moody Blue. Set the car aside and move to the frame.
  7. Trace the racing flags onto the upper left corner of the frame using a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper.
  8. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo over the traced image of the flags.
  9. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, paint "Top Fuel Dadster" centered over the picture opening using SC-74 Hot Tamale.
  10. Using SC-12 Moody Blue, paint, "Love, Your Pit Crew" beneath the flags on the left of the frame.
  11. Cut the kitchen sponge in 1" squares and sponge on SC-15 Tuxedo for the tire tracks.
  12. After each piece is dipped in clear glaze, position the car so that it is driving away from the tire tracks.
  13. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
