Instructions


  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 # 4 Soft Fan, apply 3 smooth coats of UG-92 - Lilac to the flower pot leaving a border on the upper and lower ½" -1"areas on the outside of the flower pot. (refer to the photo). Allow to dry.
  3. Using AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper and pencil, trace or sketch the flower designs on the flower pot.
  4. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-1 Pink-A-Boo to the flower petals and flower centers.
  5. Using the AC-220 Detailer bottle filled with SG-302 Snowfall, apply a line to the outer edge of the flower petal. Then using the tip of a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, drag down the line spreading it towards the center, leaving the outer edge sharp and gently feathering the SG-302 Snowfall towards the flower center.
  6. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, outline and add detail to the flower centers with SC-14 Java Bean. Also outline the "loopy" flowers.
  7. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 smooth coats of UG-50 Jet Black to the inside of the flower pot and the upper and lower ½"-1" areas on the outside of the flower pot.
  8. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of CC-101 Transparent Crackle to the UG-92 Lilac area only.
  9. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing to the UG-50 Black area only.
  10. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
  11. Allow the piece to develop the crackle pattern for 24 to 48 hours. Then apply a thinned coat of SS-138 Flat Black to the crackle area, and wipe off with a paper towel.
