Ritual Glaze by Mayco

Textural Stoneware Glazes

FAQs

What colors will Mayco be manufacturing and when will the other colors be ready?

Mayco will be manufacturing a selection of products, including Melt Gloop, Beads, Crawl, and Moon Rocks. These products will be released as they become available, with additional colors to follow in a secondary release for each of the three lines. The initial colors being produced by Mayco have been selected based on sales data and manufacturing capacity.

The Ritual Glaze by Mayco Beads and Crawl products are still in development, but we expect to have them ready very soon. The delay in Ritual Glaze wasn’t due to the formula itself, but rather adjustments to Mayco’s manufacturing process to support larger-scale production and improve shelf life and shipping stability. Our team has done an excellent job matching the performance and colors of the original Ritual Glaze products to Mayco’s new process.

What has changed from the Ritual version?

We have kept everything the same with the formula to the degree possible and economically feasible. Mayco’s manufacturing process supports larger-scale production and improves shelf life and shipping stability. Our team has done an excellent job matching the performance and colors of the original Ritual Glaze products to Mayco’s new process.

All colors in the ritual Glaze by Mayco product lines are packaged in a wide-mouth, squatty pint, similar to our stoneware labels. Each label will feature a chip image on the front, along with basic application instructions, tips, and a new QR code. The QR code will direct you to additional information, decorated samples, and instructional videos on how to use the product.

Will Mayco be selling any glazes beyond the four listed in the graphic?

The acquisition includes all of the Ritual Glaze formulas, so Mayco has an opportunity to bring them back in the future.

Ritual Glaze by Mayco

March 26, 2025 Mayco Colors announces the acquisition of Ritual Glaze. This acquisition will expand Mayco’s ceramic glaze offerings to include Ritual’s unique special effect glazes for mid-range and high-fire usage. Select Ritual-branded glazes will be manufactured, sold, and marketed through Mayco’s established worldwide distribution network. Ritual Glaze Founder, Sarah Bingham, will be working with the Mayco team to ensure that the Ritual brand and its products are launched with her enthusiasm and passion in mind.

Founded in 2022, Ritual Glaze is a 100% woman-owned, small-batch startup based in Portland, Oregon. The first-ever special effect glaze company, Ritual Glaze produces a unique collection of textural and specialty glazes, including products known as Bead, Crawl, Melt Gloop, and Moon Rocks.

Founder Sarah Bingham expressed her enthusiasm for the future, stating, “I’m beyond excited and humbled to be working with the Mayco team to increase the availability of these special effect glazes!”

As Ritual Glazes have gained in popularity, the small-batch nature of the operation has been impacted. With Mayco’s manufacturing and distribution capabilities, Ritual Glazes will become accessible to a larger audience within the ceramic community.
