- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- With a #4 Soft Fan Brush (RB144) apply 3 coats of S2727 Poppy Fields to the top 1/3rd and the entire inside of the bowl.
- Apply 2 coats of UG216 Peach to the bottom 2/3rd of the bowl, including the bottom, using a #4 Soft Fan Brush.
- Using a detail bottle or small syringe, apply a thick layer of SW429 Red Melt Gloop to the middle of the bowl where the underglaze and the Jungle Gems meet. The product will run during firing.
- Using a detail bottle or small syringe, apply a thick layer of SW420 White Melt Gloop over the Red to create a layered effect. The product will run after during firing.
- Fire to cone 6.
Additional Adaptations & Tips
- You do not need to wipe the underglaze from the bottom of the piece. Underglaze does not stick to the kiln shelf
- You do not need to stilt this piece, but the piece may be placed on a cookie or piece of soft brick, in case Gloop runs.
