Students will press a leaf into clay and inscribe a word, mantra, expression of gratitude, or meaningful quote at its center.
- Roll out clay to about ¼” thick and place a real leaf (or template) on top, pressing gently to capture veins and texture.
- Cut around the leaf shape and smooth edges with a damp sponge or finger.
- Carve or stamp a word, mantra, expression of gratitude, or quote into the center.
- Optional: Make a small hole at the top for hanging.
- Let the piece dry slowly, then bisque fire.
- Glaze using washes, transparent glazes, or layered colors to highlight texture and words.
