Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using the RB144 #4 Soft Fan with FN001 White, apply 1 coat to the portion of the plate where you will be placing the capybara. Allow to dry.
  3. Cut out the capybara from the pattern. Wet the back with a damp sponge. Place onto the plate. Sponge around the edges to make sure they stay down. Using the Soft Fan with FN001, apply 1 coat over the edges of the capybara. This will help to make sure it doesn’t lift as the paper dries.
  4. Use the pencil to trace the details on the capybara head. This will leave pattern lines in the glaze for later.
  5. Using the RB144 #4 Soft Fan with SP286 Speckled Old Lace, apply 2 coats over the front of the plate. Allow glaze to dry between coats.
  6. After glaze is dry, use MC002 12mm Low Tack Masking Tape to tape off stripes on the front of the plate.
  7. Using the Soft Fan with SP2105 Speckled Tic-Tac-Turquoise, apply 2 coats to every other stripe. Allow glaze to dry between coats.
  8. Before the glaze is bone-dry, remove the tape and pattern.
  9. Place the “Be Cappy!” lettering above the capybara. Trace lightly with a pencil to make pattern lines in the glaze.
  10. Using the RB110 10/0 Detail Liner with SC15 Tuxedo, outline the capybara, details on the face, and lettering.
  11. Using the RB144 #4 Soft Fan with SP2105 Speckled Tic-Tac-Turquoise, apply 2 coats to the back of the plate. Allow glaze to dry between coats.
  12. Dip plate into NTCLR Clear One dipping glaze.
  13. Stilt and fire to cone 06.
