Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Pour a small amount of each EZ color into 2oz cups then add some water (about 1:2 ratio of color to water).
    1. Tip: EZ Stroke colror goes a long way! You don’t need a lot for great pigment.
  3. Use your script liner brush to mix the colors with the water.
  4. Starting with the water, use a script liner to pickup Light Blue. Using dabbing or brushing motions, apply the Light blue about 2-3 inches up the plate.
  5. Pick up Peacock Green and apply in the same motion overlapping the Light Blue a little and about 2 inches above.
  6. Pick up Dutch Blue and apply in the same motion overlapping Peacock Green a little and about 2 inches above (this should end about ½ way up the plate).
  7. Go over each blue until you’ve reached our desired shading and overlapping.
  8. Using a Script Liner, pick up Neon Yellow. Make an arch to outline the sun and fill in toward the ocean. Overlap the blue a little to create the sun reflection.
  9. Load your brush with Lilac and use dabbing or brushing motions to apply the color on either side of the sun. Stop about 1 inch up from the ocean.
  10. Repeat with Rose about another inch above and overlapping the Lilac.
  11. Repeat above Rose with Creamsicle.
  12. Finally, add more Lilac above and overlapping the Creamsicle.
  13. Add color to each section until you have reached your desired shading.
  14. Using a Detail Liner, load your brush with Cobalt Jet Black. Outline your sun and add lines for the sun rays. Add wave lines to the ocean.
  15. Once dry, dip into clear glaze, stilt, and fire to cone 06.
