Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Put approximately 1oz of SC098 Slime Time into a small cup.
    1. Add a splash of water and mix it into SC098 Slime Time.
    2. Add approx. 1oz of SC007 Leapin’ Lizard into the same cup. Do Not Mix.
    3. Add approx. 1oz of SC093 Honeydew List into the same cup.
    4. Use the end of your brush to make some X’s into the cup. Do Not completely mix the glazes together.
  3. Pour the cup over the entire plate, move the plate around and let the excess fall off onto the plate. This will leave behind a marbled effect. (Tip: Save the excess to create glaze crumbles later.)
  4. Let the plate dry completely.
  5. Cut out each induvial shape on the turtle. The numbers on the turtle will be important to keep the shapes in the correct pattern.
    1. Place the pattern of the turtle onto the middle of the plate, leaving space in between each shape. Pat each piece with a damp sponge to help them stay in place.
  6. Apply 3 coats of SC076 Cara-bein Blue over the entire plate including the paper pattern. Let dry until the shine is gone, remove the pattern from the plate. (Tip: Apply the color from the inside of each piece of paper going outward to help keep the edges from pulling up.)
  7. Apply 3 coats of SC076 Cara-bein Blue the back of the plate.
  8. Stilt and fire to cone 06.
