Instructions

  1. Begin with thrown or handbuilt vase using B-Mix cone 5/6 Clay.
  2. Xiem FTS-10344 Fluting Tool Set was used for the carved pattern.
  3. Wax bottom of the vase with AC-302 Wax Resist.
  4. Thoroughly Mix SD-172 Macadamia and SD-132 Mirror Black, if dipping.
  5. Quickly dip case into SD-172 Macadamia up to start of the bottleneck. Hold for one second. Or brush three coats with SW-172.
  6. Dip bottleneck of the vase into SD-132 Mirror Black or brush three coats with SW-132, slightly overlapping the Macadamia area.
  7. Apply one coat of SW-132 or SD-132 Mirror Black onto the raised edges of the vase using a RB-140#8 Soft Fan brush.
  8. Wipe the bottom of any excess glaze.
  9. Fire on medium speed to cone 6
