Drippy Halloween Candle Holders

1. Once you have built your candle holder(s) and they are between leather hard to bone dry, apply two coats of UG223 Apricot to the entire form.
2. Once piece(s) are fully dry bisque fire to cone 04.
3. Wipe off bisque with a damp sponge to remove any dust.
4. Optional Step if your piece has texture: Apply UG050 over entire piece with a CB604 #4 Soft Fan Brush, then use a throwing sponge to wipe back the black underglaze and expose more apricot underglaze and highlight texture. Brush 2 coats of UG050 Jet Black onto the handle(s) of candle holder(s). Bisque fire again to cone 04.
5. Wipe off bisque with a damp sponge to remove any dust.
6. Using a CB604 #4 Soft Fan Brush apply 2 coats of SW508 Black Gloss to the inside of the candle holder.
7. Using a glaze syringe apply dollops of SW425 Black Melt Gloop to the top of the candle holder(s) on the rim of various sizes. You can also had small dots of SW425 Black Melt Gloop on the base of the candle holder(s) and on the stem to mimic more wax drips.
8. Fire to cone 6.

Additional Adaptations & Tips

1. You want to bisque fire the underglaze onto your piece before glaze firing with Melt Gloop to ensure the Melt Gloop does not pull any underglaze.
