Instructions

Casting

  1. Secure the mold with straps.
  2. Pour slip into mold and allow to set for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Pour slip out of mold and allow to set up completely.
  4. Remove the piece from the mold.
  5. Clean seams and cut out a hole for the planter.
  6. Allow to dry completely.
  7. Bisque fire to cone 04.

Glazing 

  1. Begin with properly fired cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe the bisque to remove any dust. 
  2. Using a soft fan, apply 2 coats of PC-601 Clear Cascades around the opening of the planter. 
  3. Apply 2 coats of EL-121 Copper Adventurine to the entire planter.  
  4. Apply 2 coats of EL-208 Moss Creek to the planter; recede the second coat so that it only goes down about ½ way. 
  5. Fully load the fan brush with PC-602 White Cascades and plop it around the opening of the planter. 
  6. Allow to dry completely. 
  7. Stilt and fire to cone 06.
