Ikat Stoneware Plate

  1. Begin with properly fired cone 04 stoneware bisque. Moisten a sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Use a sponge on a stick to apply SW-510 Dark Green to the Ikat stamping mat. Be sure to dab of excess glaze off the sponge to ensure a clean transfer.
  3. Lay the mat down carefully onto the plate and tap with your hand to be sure it touches the whole plate. Repeat as necessary to fill the design.
  4. Apply 3 coats of SW-510 Dark Green to the rim and back of the plate.
  5. Apply 3 coats of SW-203 Root Beer to the face of the plate.
  6. Use a damp sponge to remove any glaze that may have gotten on the foot.
  7. Fire to shelf cone 5/6 *Sample was fired to cone 6*
