Instructions

Casting

  1. Secure the mold with straps.
  2. Pour slip into mold and allow to set for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Pour slip out of mold and allow to set up completely.
  4. Remove the piece from the mold.
  5. Clean seams and cut out a hole for the planter.
  6. Allow to dry completely.
  7. Bisque fire to cone 04.

Glazing 

  1. Begin with properly fired cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a soft fan, apply 2 coats of CR-932 Blueberry Bubblegum to the body of the dragonefly, avoiding the eyes.
  3. Apply 1 coats of SC-76 Cara-bein Blue to the wings and wipe back with a sponge to showcase the texture. Apply 3 coats to the bottom.
  4. Using a script liner, apply a wash of SC-27 and SC-75 to the wings.
  5. Using a soft fan, apply 2 coats of S-2101 to the wings.
  6. Using a script liner, apply 2 coats of SC-16 Cotton tail to the eyes and SC-15 Tuxedo to the pupils. Outline using a detail liner.
  7. Allow to dry completely.
  8. Stilt and fire to cone 06.
