Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Apply 2 coats of UG050 Jet Black the outside of the mug, do not glaze the bottom or inside of the mug. Apply with a RB144 Soft Fan.
  3. Apply 3 coats of either SP213 Speckled Graple or SP209 Speckled Jaded to the inside of the mug. Apply with a RB144 Soft Fan.
  4.  Mix SW420 White Melt Gloop and either SP213 Speckled Graple or SP209 Speckled Jaded.
  5. The mixture will be one part Gloop to 3 parts Speckled Stroke and Coat.
  6. Apply 2 thin coats of the thicken mixture to only the top half of the mug. Apply with a RB144 Soft Fan.
  7. While applying build up the edge of the glaze rim in the middle of the mug.
  8. While the glaze rim is still wet slightly flatten the rim if needed. The rim should be slightly thicker than the base gloop mixture application. Do this with a RB144 Soft Fan.
  9. If cracking occurs while drying or you want the glaze to be more vibrant apply one thin coat SP213 Speckled Graple or SP209 Speckled Jaded over the gloop mixture.
  10. Fire to cone 6.

Tip: For best practices fire the Underglaze or Engobe to a cone 04 before applying the gloop mixture.
