Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired cone 04 stoneware bisque. Moisten a sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a fan brush, apply 2 coats of S-2701 Peacock Eyes around the top ¼ of the piece.
  3.  Apply 3 coats of SW-184 Speckled Toad to the rest of the piece; overlapping the Peacock Eyes by about ½”.
  4. Use a damp sponge to wipe away any glaze that may have gotten on the foot.
  5. Fire to cone 5/6. Sample was fired to cone 6.

*This is a project that requires a degree of practical consideration when being used for dinnerware. If you are applying the project to a vessel in which the glaze can pool, the build up of glaze in those areas can potentially craze severely and in that instance would not be ideal for dinnerware use*
