Instructions

  1. Begin with soft fired stoneware bisque.
  2. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  3. Use a palette knife to mix the AC-310 Silkscreen Medium with UG-50 Jet Black until it is the thickness of loose peanut butter. Use your finger to apply the thickened mixture through the screen. You can use the screen repeatedly, but be sure to rinse and thoroughly dry once the screen gets gummy/is not transferring as well. Lightly applying a grid on the plate with a pencil can help with making an even pattern.
  4. Use a script liner and fan brush to apply 2 coats of UG-50 Jet Black to the rim and back of the plate; avoiding the foot.
  5. Use a fan brush to apply 3 coats of SW-139 Lemon Meringue to the entire plate; avoiding the foot.
  6. Use a clean sponge to wipe the excess glaze off of the foot.
  7. Fire to cone 5/6. (Sample was fired to cone 6)
