Instructions

Build

  1. Start with about ½ to ¾ of a pound of clay.
  2. Create a small pinch pot.
  3. Set pot on its side so the opening can become your monsters mouth and smooth out any cracks with your finger.
  4. Using small pieces of clay sculpt features for your monster (eyes, teeth, tongue, arms, legs, tail, fins, etc.).
  5. Attach the features to your pot by slipping and scoring them together.
  6. Smooth out your connections with your fingers and water.
  7. Let your pot dry slowly.
  8. Once it is completely dry, bisque fire your pot to cone 04.

Glaze:

  1. Wipe your bisqueware with a damp sponge.
  2. Coat your pot with 3 coats of your favorite Jungle Gem (Pictured: CG-785 Royal Fantasy, CG-707 Woodland Fantasy, CG-998 Pink Pixie, CG-718 Blue Caprice, S-2702 Northern Lights). 
  3. Using a detail brush apply 3 coats of SC-16 CottonTail to the eyes and teeth.
  4. Using a detail brush create the pupils with SC-15 Tuxedo, apply 3 coats.
  5. Add color to the tongue using a detail brush and 3 coats of SC-95 Pinkie Swear.
  6. Use stilts to fire pieces to cone 06.
